They add sweetness and a nice crunch to the fajitas.

Flank Steak Fajitas are typically served in warm flour tortillas. You can use either large or small tortillas, depending on your preference. Other common toppings and fillings include guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa, and fresh cilantro. These ingredients allow for customization to suit individual tastes. Flank Steak Fajitas - Recipica

Ingredients of Flank Steak Fajitas:

For the Marinade:

  • 1.5 pounds (680g) flank steak
  • 1/4 cup lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Fajitas:

  • 1 thinly sliced large onion
  • 2 thinly sliced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)
  • 8 small flour tortillas or 4 large ones

For Toppings:

  • Guacamole, Salsa, Chopped cilantro, Sour cream, Shredded cheese

Instructions of Making Flank Steak Fajitas:

  • Combine all the marinade ingredients: lime juice, minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Now seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate the steak in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. You will get best result if you can marinate for 2-4 hours or even overnight.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. You can also use a stovetop grill pan or a regular skillet.
  • Slice the onion and bell peppers while the grill is heating,.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Grill the flank steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer if you prefer it more well-done. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the heat of your grill. So you can use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches your desired doneness (around 130-135°F for medium-rare).
  • Transfer the steak to a cutting board once it is done and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender.
  • While the steak is resting, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil, then sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers for about 5-7 minutes or until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Slice the rested steak against the grain into thin strips. Cutting against the grain ensures tenderness.
  • Warm the tortillas, either on the grill or in the microwave.

Serving of Flank Steak Fajitas:

  • Place some of the sliced steak and sautéed peppers and onions onto each tortilla. Add any desired toppings like salsa, guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, or cilantro.
  • Fold the tortillas and serve your homemade flank steak fajitas immediately.

Enjoy your delicious homemade flank steak fajitas! You can customize them with your favorite toppings and serve them with sides like Mexican rice and refried beans for a complete meal.
